HarperCollins Wants Readers to Share Videos on YouTube

By Dianna Dilworth

HarperCollins Publishers has launched a new YouTube channel called Book Studio 16.

To promote the effort, the publisher is running a contest for readers to make videos of their book shelves. The person that makes the best bookshelf selfie or “shelfie” will win free HarperCollins books. Participants must create the video showing off their bookshelves and explaining why they love their books.

The grand prize winner will win $500 worth of HarperCollins books and their shelfie could be featured on the Book Studio 16 channel. Five runners will receive $300 worth of print books, and their videos will also be featured on the page. Editors and Book Studio employees will judge the videos “based on creativity, book knowledge, and screen presence.”
