Harper Lee Signs 500 Copies of ‘Go Set a Watchman’

Harper Lee Special Book (GalleyCat)Harper Lee has signed 500 copies of a special collectors’ edition of Go Set a Watchman. HarperCollins published this book, a prequel to Lee’s beloved novel To Kill a Mockingbird, back in July 2015.

Here’s more from The New York Times: “A spokeswoman for HarperCollins said that Ms. Lee, 89, signed sheets of paper that were then bound into the books, in batches over a period of a few months. Ms. Lee, who suffered a stroke in 2007 and lives in an assisted living facility in Monroeville, Ala. is nearly blind and has trouble hearing, but can write and read documents, with the help of a magnifying machine, according to people close to her.”

According to a Books-A-Million press release, this special collectors’ edition features a leather-bound cover with gold foil stamping, gold gilded edges, and a box lined in velvet. The price for each book has been listed as $1,500.00. (via The Huffington Post)
