Go Set a Watchman Has Sold More Than 1.1M Copies

Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman has been on bookshelves for a week and the title has already sold more than 1.1 million copies through booksellers in the U.S. and Canada, HarperCollins Publishers revealed today. The title has become the fastest selling book in the company’s history.

The publishers have also sold more than 150,000 copies of the Spanish-language edition of the book. HarperCollins has already run several print runs of the book, and now counts more than 3.3 million books in print.

“First week sales of Go Set a Watchman have far exceeded our expectations,” stated Brian Murray, president and CEO of HarperCollins Publishers. “Bringing this book to market has been an amazing effort by thousands of people – from our publishing teams to booksellers large and small. We are thrilled to see readers responding to this historic new work from an iconic author like Harper Lee.”
