Could Game of Thrones be seen on the big screen one day? George R.R. Martin has high hopes to end this adaptation after seven or eight seasons on HBO with a movie.
According to Screen Daily, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series revealed this idea during an appearance at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival. Some speculate that all the work that goes into producing a movie would allow Martin more time to write the sixth and seventh installments of his beloved book series. Others feel that whatever ending Martin intends to pen requires a full movie to capture.
Here’s more from MTV.com: “As Ned Stark so famously warned, winter is coming; we know the White Walkers exist in numbers beyond the Wall, and we know Dany’s dragons are only getting bigger and bigger. It’s only a matter of time before all these forces come to a head, and perhaps a feature film is the only way to do justice to the massive ideas percolating in Martin’s mind.”
