Back in September 2014, Steve Sheinkin launched the “Walking & Talking” web comic series on Elizabeth Bird’s blog, “A Fuse #8 Production”. Sheinkin chats with children’s book creators and transforms these conversations into comics.
The latest post stars Printz Award winner Gene Luen Yang. Yang and Sheinkin discuss Yang’s latest work, The Shadow Hero. Past interview subjects include Noggin author John Corey Whaley and Babymouse series co-author Jennifer Holm.
Sheinkin introduced this project in a post on his own blog. Here’s an excerpt: “One of the best things about my job is that I get to meet a lot of great children’s and YA authors at events all over the country. So I figured it might be fun to interview some of them, and turn the interviews into short online comics. Kind of a strange idea, I know, but I’ve always loved drawing comics and figured this might be a way keep to my hand in.”
