GalleyPooch Joins Our Literary Pet Parade

By Jason Boog

Welcome to GalleyCat’s annual pet parade, a holiday display of literary pets around the globe. GalleyCat readers have sent in pictures all week–the largest response we’ve ever received to the pet parade. Look for more pet pictures all week.

Novelist Susan Mallery shared that picture of her dog all dressed up for the holiday season.

Novelist Clea Simon writes:”So… we just moved and our kitty Musetta is not amused. I think her way of expressing it – hiding under the blankets – epitomizes how many of us feel about the holidays: GO AWAY! CALL ME WHEN THEY ARE OVER! Sadly, I have my next mystery (“Cats Can’t Shoot”) due to my publisher in June, so I can’t follow her lead.”

Amy Atwell introduced her literary cat: “Here, her back foot is pointing to my bulletin board to remind me that ‘Life Is Never Perfect.’ We adopted Paris and her sister London from an animal shelter in California six years ago.  They’ve shared my desk that whole time, through drafting four manuscripts, countless rejections and my debut book release last month. Paris’s theory is that you keep reaching for your goals–and that’s how you roll.”

Vern Associates creative director Peter M. Blaiwas sent that picture of Q-Tip (on the left) and Leo (on the right).

Cheryl Alexander sent that picture of her holiday kitty.
