GalleyCat Readers Name Congressman Joe Wilson’s Memoir

By Jason Boog

joewilson23.jpgWhen South Carolina Republican Congressman Joe Wilson shouted “You lie!” during President Barack Obama’s health care speech this week, he became an instant and infamous Internet celebrity.

Despite his public apology, the congressman was the most popular topic on Twitter for a day, and a number of Twitter writers composed titles for his future book deal–a virtual certainty in these celebrity-driven days for publishing. A few GalleyCat readers joined in the fun as well. One wrote: “His Bark Was Worse Than His Right!” Another writer left a Dorothy Allison-inspired dig.

After that, faithful reader Lawrence Tate added: “Preston Brooks I Ain’t.” Finally, one reader had some vacation advice for the lawmaker: “Maybe I Should Go To Argentina Too.”
