Funny or Die Writer Lands Book Deal With Simon & Schuster

Nate DernNate Dern, the head writer of Funny or Die News, has inked a book deal with Simon & Schuster.

Dern (pictured, via) plans to create a collection of humorous essays entitled In Case of Fire, Use Stairs: And Other Plans That Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time. The publisher has scheduled the release date for 2016.

Here’s more from The Hollywood Reporter: “Essays in the book will include ‘Walt Whitman, Spin Class Instructor,’ ‘How to Explain What ‘Merger’ Means to Your Child,’ and ‘Conversation with the First Computer To Pass the Turing Test.’…Dern was represented in the deal by Rob Weisbach of Rob Weisbach Creative Management. Dern is also repped by Cory Richman at Liebman Entertainment. Senior editor Ben Loehnen acquired the book for Simon & Schuster.”
