From I Am Number Four to Gnomeo and Juliet : 5 Upcoming Literary Film Adaptations

What literary adaptations are you looking forward to this winter? Here is a round-up of five upcoming literary movies.

In the video embedded above, you can watch the trailer for an upcoming adaptation of Mordecai Richler’s novel, Barney’s Version. Set for January 14th release, the film stars Paul Giamatti.

On January 15th, comedian Seth Rogen and Asian pop star Jay Chou team-up for the comic book adaptation, The Green Hornet.

On February 15th, The Eagle will bring Rosemary Sutcliff‘s novel, The Eagle of the Ninth (based on the legend of the Ninth Legion), to the screen.

That same weekend, Gnomeo and Juliet will retell Shakespeare’s timeless play about star-crossed lovers as 3-D animated musical starring garden gnomes.

Finally, on on February 18th marks the release of  I Am Number Four, the alien flick based on Pitacus Lore‘s young-adult novel. As previously reported, Lore  is a pseudonym for two co-writers, James Frey and Jobie Hughes.
