Random-House-logo1.GIFAs GalleyCat reported this morning, Random House Publishing Group completed its reorganization today–promoting some editors and making an unspecified number of job cuts.

According to the NY Observer, four editors were among the cuts: Random House’s Modern Library editor Judy Sternlight, Ballantine’s Villard editor Bruce Tracy, Ballantine’s Anika Streitfeld and Liz Scheier.

The Observer spoke with Carol Schneider, Executive Director of Publicity & Public Relations at Random House. She explained: “No imprint is being eliminated … All of our editors feed all of our imprints. Libby McGuire continues as publisher of Ballantine Books, which incorporates Villard as well as several other imprints. We will continue to publish under the Villard imprint.”
