Girls Who Code (GalleyCat)Reshma Saujani, the founder of the Girls Who Code non-profit organization, has established a partnership with Penguin Young Readers.

Some of the projects in-the-works include a nonfiction title that features an introduction to coding, a doodling book, a coding-themed journal, a middle-grade fiction series, and a board books series. The release date for the nonfiction book has been scheduled for Summer 2017.

Here’s more from the press release: “Girls Who Code, to be published by Viking Children’s Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers, is a graphically illustrated non-fiction book aimed at readers ages 10 and up that will explain the basic principles of coding, share examples of the amazing projects girls can create, and introduce readers to real girls and women who are making history and changing the world through coding. The fictional series, to be published by Grosset & Dunlap, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers, is aimed at readers ages 8-12 and will feature girls who use coding to make a difference, create art, earn money, and more, and will be inspired by participants in the Girls Who Code programs. The books will also include coding activities.”
