Forest Whitaker Cast in the Labyrinth Film Adaptation

Forest Whitaker (GalleyCat)Forest Whitaker (pictured, via) has signed on for a role in the Labyrinth film adaptation. According to  The Hollywood Reporter, the story comes from Randall Sullivan’s 2002 book, LAbyrinth: A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., the Implication of Death Row Records’ Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal.

Whitaker will star alongside Johnny Depp in this projectBrad Furman will serve as the director of this movie and Christian Contreras wrote the script.

Here’s more from Deadline: “Depp plays a disgraced LAPD detective who is unable to solve his biggest case: the murders of the hip-hop icons. Whitaker will play the journalist who teams with the cop, each determined to find the truth, and each with a reason to seek redemption in an effort that sets them against the cops.” (via The A.V.
