The filmmakers behind The Dam Keeper, an Oscar-nominated animation short, have landed a deal with First Second books.
Tonko House partners Robert Kondo and Daisuke Tsutsumi, two former Pixar art directors, plan to continue from where the story leaves off at the end of the film.The graphic novel series will be an exploration on how friendships develop over the course of time. The first installment will be published in 2016.
Here’s more from Entertainment Weekly: “The story will begin five years after the events of the short, with friends Pig and Fox on the cusp of adulthood as the dark cloud that the dam holds back recedes for the first time.
