First Book and Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing have established a partnership. Through this new agreement, 20,000 copies of Jason Reynolds’ books will be donated to children who come from low income backgrounds.
Some of the Reynolds titles that will be given away include When I Was the Greatest (2014), The Boy in the Black Suit (2015), As Brave As You (2016), and Ghost (2016). Click here to watch a video message from the author (pictured, via).
Here’s more from the press release: “As part of the Simon & Schuster and First Book partnership, Reynolds will also visit students in Washington, DC schools for a reading and discussion of his journey to becoming an author. The visits will be coordinated by An Open Book Foundation, which brings literacy programs to Title I Washington, DC-area schools.”
