First Best American Short Story Revealed

By Neal

Dzanc Books co-founder Dan Wickett leaks the news on his blog: Roy Kesey‘s “Wait” will be included in Best American Short Stories 2007. The story, which was originally published in The Kenyon Review, will also appear in Kesey’s first collection, All Over, which Dzanc is publishing later this year. (A sidenote from the Department of Small Worlds: This year’s BASS will be edited by Stephen King, while Owen King—no slouch in the short story department himself—is at the top of the friends list on Kesey’s MySpace page, which also includes several other writers we recognize and admire.)

If you know any of the other stories that’ll be in this year’s collection, go ahead and tell us! (UPDATE: Wickett spills another bean, revealing the inclusion of Eileen Pollack‘s “The Bris.”) (And then again, for Randy Devita‘s “Riding the Doghouse.”)
