It’s a great pleasure to feature this “Book of Color” Pick of the Day. It is called, Blue Boy (Kensington) and it is written by Indian American author and Princeton Graduate, Rakesh Satyal. Blue Boy tells the story of an Indian boy named Kiran who defies all Indian culture. Going against the grain by playing with dolls, choosing ballet over basketball and taking the annual talent show way too seriously.
Satyal is also a member of the PEN World Voices Festival and this is his debut novel. I applaud him for being a rare voice for his culture and infusing diversity in the book publishing industry.
