By Maryann Yin

The autumnal equinox will take place tomorrow on September 23rd officially initiating the fall season. Hollywood has been a busy bee with several literary movies lined up for the upcoming months. The embedded video trailer depicts scenes from the feature film adaptation of The Romantics. Altogether, five of them have been rounded up.

The Romantics finds its origins from the 2008 novel bearing the same title. Galt Niederhoffer wrote the novel, adapted the screenplay, and directed the film. The Romantics came out on September 10th 2010.

Howl, the biopic which tells the story of beat poet Allen Ginsberg stars James Franco. For all interested parties, City Lights has the Howl book trailer contest with a deadline on September 24, 2010; the film’s release date.

The Social Network comes from Ben Mezrich’s 2009 nonfiction book The Accidental Billionaires. The film will be in theaters starting October 1st 2010.

The Freakonomics documentary will be officially released on October 1st 2010. Today, select Landmark Theaters throughout the country host the Freakonomics “Name Your Price” promo.

Secretariat draws largely from William Nack’s book Secretariat: The Making of a Champion. The author was on set acting as the film’s consultant throughout its production. The movie will hit theaters on October 8th 2010.
