Eric Carle Museum to Honor Allen Say

unnamedThe Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art will honor writer/illustrator Allen Say at its 11th annual fundraiser in New York.

Say will receive the honor for his lifelong innovation in the field of picture book art. He was born in Japan then moved to the U.S. at the age of 16. He studied both Japanese and Western styles of art. After a retiring from a career as a photographer, Say became a full-time writer and illustrator of picture books at 53.

The Carle Honors fundraising gala and awards ceremony will take place on September 28th at Guastavino’s.
