Emma Donoghue & The Room: Book Trailer

By Jason Boog

Embedded above is the new book trailer for Emma Donoghue’s upcoming novel, Room–telling the story of a five-year-old boy named Jack who grew up trapped in a room with his mother. What do you think?

Here’s more about the book: “Room is home to Jack, but to Ma, it’s the prison where Old Nick has kept her for seven years, since she was nineteen. Through ingenuity and determination, Ma has created a life for herself and her son, but she knows it’s not enough for either of them. Jack’s curiosity is building alongside Ma’s desperation — and Room can’t contain either of them for much longer.”

The book comes out in September. Earlier today, the novel prompted Washington Post Book World fiction editor Ron Charles to write: “I probably should stop reading Emma Donoghue’s ROOM on the subway. My weeping is scaring the other passengers. #getaholdofyourselfman”
