Doctors Without Borders Joins Wattpad

Doctors Without Borders has joined digital storytelling platform Wattpad.

The organization is the first international nonprofit to use the social site to tell its story. Through the profile, the nonprofit is giving a face to many of its patients and doctors around the globe through their own words.

The organization’s first project is called TB & ME and is a collaborative blogging effort by patients being treated for multi drug-resistant tuberculosis who are being treated by Doctors Without Borders. “TB&ME has been launched because MDR-TB is a neglected disease,” explains the site. “Very little money has been put into the research and development of diagnostics or new, improved treatment and people who are infected by the disease have no option but to take drugs which are painful and leave them feeling weak every day for a very long time.”
