Digital Artists Publish Book of Smashed Kindles

By Dianna Dilworth

Digital artists Sebastian Schmieg and Silvio Lorusso have created a new print-on-demand paperback that features photos of broken eReaders called 56 Broken Kindle Screens.

Here is more about the book from the artist’s page: “The book takes as its starting point the peculiar aesthetic of broken E Ink displays and serves as an examination into the reading device’s materiality. As the screens break, they become collages composed of different pages, cover illustrations and interface elements.”

The POD book is available from Lulu.com and its currently on sale for $4.90. AppNewser has a video with more details.
