Devil Wears Prada: Streep’s 6th Golden Globe

By Neal

That’s what we hear, anyway—I was too busy working on a book review to actually watch the warmup for the Oscars—but we’re curious as to whether Meryl Streep remembered to thank Lauren Weisberger for creating the raw material that she shaped into the character of Miranda. If not, who knows if she’ll get a second chance when that performance is weighed next to Helen Mirren‘s in The Queen? (The way the Globes work, dramas and comedies are considered separately, which is how they both won last night; funnily enough, Mirren also won for playing Elizabeth I in an HBO miniseries.)

Of course, we also missed Forest Whitaker accepting his Golden Globe for The Last King of Scotland, but can one really thank novelist Giles Foden for creating the role of Idi Amin? Well, look, if you saw any of it, you tell us.
