Deck of Cards Based on Patrick Rothfuss Novel Raises $200,000+

By Jason Boog

A small gaming company has raised $200,000 dollars to make a deck of cards based on Patrick Rothfuss‘s novel, The Name of the Wind.

We’ve embedded a video about the project, they have exceeded the original $10,000 goal many, many times. Once they exceeded $150,000 fantasy author Jim Butcher promised to model as Ambrose Jakis for a card in the series.

We’ve worked very closely with him to create a deck that is as much a work of art as it is an homage to his amazing literary work. And thanks to the star power that Patrick is lending to this project, we’re looking forward to some guest appearances and special events over the next month. This is definitely going to be one of our most exciting projects yet! We’re a small gaming company (and by small we mean two guys) from Austin, TX that has embraced the spirit and community of Kickstarter. You can find some of our successful deck projects like Call of CthulhuThe White Rabbit, and Synthesis.

What book series would you like to see on a deck of cards next?
