David Tennant and Stephen Colbert Chat About Shakespeare

By Maryann Yin

Stephen Colbert invited David Tennant to be a guest on The Late Show. In the video embedded above, the two chatted about how the works of William Shakespeare have stayed relevant four centuries following The Bard’s death.

For Tennant, Shakespeare has “a way of getting to the numb of what is it to be a human being. And he says it better than anyone has done since, I think.” Do you agree with his opinion?

While many have come to know Tennant for playing the tenth incarnation of Doctor Who, he is also a respected stage actor. In the past, he has acted in productions of Hamlet (playing the Meloncholy Dane himself) and Love’s Labours Lost (portraying Lord Berowne).
