Charise Mericle Harper has signed a deal with First Second Books. She (pictured, via) plans to create the Crafty Cat series.
These new graphic novels will be suitable for readers of all ages. The first volume will be released in Winter 2017.
In an interview with The Comics Beat, Harper revealed the muse behind this project: “My cat Harley loves craft projects. Anytime I’m cutting paper, or sewing he’s right there next to me watching. He has crafty paws. If only he had thumbs – he could be my helper. I like to think of him as my cat-inspiration for this series.” (via the First Second Books tumblr page)
