Cathleen Richardson Bailey Earns Charlotte Sheedy Fellowship

Cathleen Richardson Bailey has been selected as the first recipient of the Charlotte Sheedy Fellowship at The MacDowell Colony.

A poet, curator and visual artist, Bailey’s stories and poems have appeared in Shooting Star Literary ReviewA & U Magazine, Cake Train, Sage Woman, Word Play Sound, Linden Avenue Literary Journal, and Border Crossing. She is also the author of two poetry collections, Spit Rock/Cracked Cave and Wild Howling Woman. Bailey holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Southern Maine at Stonecoast.

The Charlotte Sheedy Fellowship, which was named in honor of the literary agent, was established last year to support one writer every year whose work crosses racial and cultural borders.
