Candlewick Press and Six Flags New England have established a new partnership. The two companies will work together to host “Read a Book Day” on August 27.
Here’s more from the press release: “Guests are invited to donate at least three new or gently used books at the park’s Main Gate in exchange for $20.16 off the Main Gate Admission price. All donated books will go directly to the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield, Massachusetts.”
Attendees are encouraged to donate picture books, chapter books for middle grade readers, character books, and educational books. The organizers hope to collect 500 books from this literacy-themed event.
