Camila Mendes has landed the role of Veronica Lodge for the Riverdale TV pilot. Back in 2010, Dan Parent, a longtime writer and artist at Archie Comics, sat for an interview with us and described the character as a “lovable, spoiled, rich girl.”
Not too long ago, The CW made several other casting announcements. KJ Apa will play Archie Andrews, Cole Sprouse will play Jughead Jones , Lili Reinhart will play Betty Cooper, Ashleigh Murray will play Josie McCoy, Madelaine Petsch will play Cheryl Blossom and Luke Perry will play Fred Andrews.
According to the press release, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the COO of Archie Comics, has signed on to write the script. He will also serve as an executive producer along with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater.
