Brown Bear, Brown Bear Turns 50 With New Exhibit

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Eric Carle’s classic picture book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. with a new exhibition.

Brown Bear Turns 50 will feature artwork from every page of the classic book. The exhibition also includes various collages from the three additional bear books including: Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?; Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?; and Baby Bear, Baby Bear, What Do You See?

The exhibit, which will be on view at the museum from September 13, 2016 through March 19, 2017, is the first in a series of events honoring the book, which is one of the best selling children’s books of all time.Concurrently, the museum is also hosting the “Brown Bear Everywhere” pop-up exhibit in which 14 pieces have been installed at various locations throughout the state of Massachusetts.
