Last night, Siobhan Vivian became the first author to hold an event at Book Court, an independent bookstore in Brooklyn Heights, since its recent expansion, and she reports that “the store is absolutely beautiful”—and that enough people braved the snow drifts to make the reading truly festive (though cupcakes and wine enhanced the mood as well). “My editor, David Levithan, gave an awesome speech in the vein of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist,” Vivian adds, “comparing my second book to Radiohead’s The Bends. Seriously. Best compliment ever!”

Meg Wolitzer will be appearing at the store this evening, and Richard Price on Wednesday night, followed by Philip Gourevitch on Thursday—with many more cool events to follow.
