By Jason Boog

Sharing a new book is The best thing you can do with a kid this summer. You can help them beat the summer slide and reverse an unfortunate decline in bedtime story reading.

The Brooke Jackman Foundation revealed its annual Brooke’s Best Books for Summer Reading list, including books for kids of different ages. The foundation has donated over 200,000 books to children in memory of a woman with “a deep love of reading and a profound interest in helping children” who died on 9/11.

Here’s more from the release:

To create the list, members of the BJF advisory committee, including creator of the beloved children’s show Reading Rainbow Dr.Twila C. Liggett; literacy expert Dr. Gay Su Pinnell; renowned children’s authors Stephanie Calmenson and Katie Davis; and BJF’s executive director Erin Jackman each shared a few of their favorite summer titles. In addition, BJF polled its online community and included their top suggestions on the list as well.
