shakespeare304The British Library, a London-based institution, will host an exhibit called “Shakespeare in Ten Acts.” The curators organized this program to honor the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death.

Here’s more information from The British Library’s website: “It is often said that Shakespeare’s work is universal, but this is to ignore the fact that his plays have been constantly reinvented to suit the times…This exhibition explores the impact of ten significant theatrical moments from Shakespeare’s first production of Hamlet to a digital-age deconstruction for the 21st century.”

Some of the items on display include a script handwritten by Shakespeare, two authentic Shakespeare signatures, a First Folio, paintings, photos, costumes, and theatrical props. The opening date has been scheduled for April 15 and the closing date for has been scheduled on Sept. 6.
