Bookstores Reopen After Storm

As the East Coast emerged from Hurricane Sandy, a few bookstores opened their doors to the community. At the same time, literary blogger Edward Champion reported that Brooklyn’s Powerhouse Arena has been “devastated.”

We’ve collected a few Twitter dispatches from bookstores below, we will update as the day continues. Here is a growing list of ways you can help victims of Hurricane Sandy.

If you are looking for a place to relax or refresh during this tough time, your local bookstore could be a good place to visit. Community Bookstore summed it up: “You can’t beat a book when it comes to disaster comfort. Doesn’t need charging AND can be read by candlelight.”
