Longtime bookstore owner Warren Cassell passed away last weekend at age 80-years-old. According to Shelf Awareness, he owned and operated the Just Books store in Greenwich, CT for many years.

Cassell, who was reportedly a larger-than-life salesman, sold the store in 2002 so that he and his wife could retire. They moved to Portland, OR after this event to be near family.

Here’s more from the article: “[H]e did not retire in the general sense of the word: among other things, he worked part-time at Broadway Books, started a memoir and recently became involved with operationpaperback.org, a group dedicated to providing gently used paperbacks to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, to VA hospitals and to families with members serving overseas.”
