Maria Baron, a former intern at Candy magazine, was awarded the grand prize of a 60 GB Panasonic SDR-H60 hard-drive camcorder; she says she’s now considering filmmaking as a career.
“I think Baron’s video captured the story of Savvy Girl and showed great creativity, well-executed editing and artistic flair,” commented soap opera actress Bonnie Dennison, one of the panel of celebrity judges who evaluated the 15 entries. There is still a competition for the “fan favorite” video; at the end of the month, the top vote-getter will receive a $50 iTunes gift certificate.
