Book clubs have finally achieved cinematic recognition. In one of the strangest media events in recent memory, CBS teamed up with Saturn to produce a web video series about four women who skip book club and have adventures with Saturn vehicles.
The premiere episode could become a campy favorite among web video collectors of the future–featuring a bit of gratuitous product placement and an Ernest Hemingway novel.
The eight episode Novel Adventures series will feature a different book each time, taking the women to exciting places as they ditch book club together. Read all about it: “The series was created by Jonathan Prince, whose credits include A&E’s ‘The Cleaner’ and CBS’ ‘Cane.’ Prince said he was asked by Saturn to create the series as a means to promote its new line of cars, and then brought the idea to CBS.”
