Yoda Gets a Buddy (GalleyCat)Beth Ostrosky Stern, TV personality, animal activist and wife of famed shock jock Howard Stern, has landed a deal with the Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing imprint, Aladdin Books. Stern plans to write a picture book entitled Yoda Gets a Buddy. She announced on Twitter that all of her proceeds will go on to benefit the North Shore Animal League America’s “Bianca’s Furry Friends” campaign.

Devin Crane, an artist, has signed on to create the illustrations. This story serves as a sequel to Stern’s 2014 title Yoda: A Cat and His Kittens. The publisher has set the release date for Dec. 1.

Here’s more from the press release: “In Beth’s newest story, Yoda is busier than ever in the foster kitten room. Enter Buddy, a kitten who is blind. Because Buddy has had to recover from eye surgery, he has been with Beth and Howard longer than any of the other foster kittens and Yoda has made him his fostering partner. The kittens adore Buddy, mimicking his every move, with no clue he is blind. One day Frankie, a new foster, is introduced and from the very first moment, none of the kittens like him. But Buddy loves him and opens the other foster’s eyes and hearts to Frankie’s goodness and sweetness. And when they discover Buddy is the kitten with a true disability and challenge, the fosters learn that love truly is blind.”
