Next year, web writers will finally be included in the Best American Short Stories collection.
Practicing Writer has the scoop: “I began reading right at the beginning, with series editor Heidi Pitlor’s foreword. Which is where I learned that starting with its next volume, BASS will consider short stories published in online publications, too.”
As we noted last week, the Pulitzer Prize Board will now permit online entries for all 14 categories of Journalism entries, a change that will permit web-based submissions in Investigative Reporting, Criticism, Feature Writing, and eleven other categories. This does not include the the Letters, Drama, and Music categories, and eligibility requirements remain unclear.
