Beauty and the Book Back in Business

As a featured guest at last winters Pulpwood Queens Girlfriends Weekend, I suppose I’m not terribly impartical when it comes to delivering the news that the book club’s founder, Kathy Patrick (inset), celebrated the reopening of her hair salon/bookstore, Beauty and the Book, earlier this month. The Jefferson, TX, store had relocated to its new 1,200-foot venue, which stocks a thousand titles and can service six appointments simultaneously, back in July, but it wasn’t until September 8 that they were ready for the “Re-Re-Grand Opening” party. You ever find yourself driving along Highway 20 in East Texas and feel like taking a detour, it’s a fun town.

Kathy’s The Pulpwood Queens’ Tiara-Wearing, Book-Sharing Guide to Life comes out early next year. Her publicist reports that she’ll be driving herself on the 22-city tour in a pink Cadillac with some of her book club friends and even a few authors tagging along.
