Through 2012, the BookExpo America Convention will be held in New York City, ending plans to hold the convention in Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas in coming years. Starting in 2010, the conference will run on a shortened schedule from Tuesday through Thursday.

According to Publishers Weekly, this year’s show, held in New York May 29 until 31, will keep the planned schedule with educational events on Thursday and exhibitions open from Friday until Sunday.

Here’s more from the article: “By keeping the show in New York, BEA executives hope to lower the costs for the major publishers as well as boost media interest in the event; an increase in media coverage was one of the major improvements publishers said they would like to see at the show.?
