Barnes & Noble’s Revenues Drop 1.5% in Q1 Fiscal 2016

Barnes & Noble’s first quarter consolidated revenues decreased 1.5 percent during the company’s fiscal 2016 quarter. Revenues were $1.2 billion.

The company’s retail segment, which includes revenues from Barnes & Noble’s bookstores and BN.com, reported $939 million in revenues, down 1.7 percent as compared to the same period during 2015. The retailer reported that bestselling included Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman and E. L. James’ Grey.

The company’s Nook, e-book business, had revenues of $54 million during the quarter, a 22.4 percent decrease from the same quarter last year.
