Barnes & Noble Will Test Prototype Store

Bookseller Barnes & Noble has plans to launch a new prototype store, which will integrate online and e-commerce elements.

The store is expected to launch at an undisclosed U.S. location sometime this year. Barnes & Noble CEO Ron Boire spoke about the project on a conference call reporting second quarter results. Publishers Weekly has more:

“One of the challenges of that store is going to be the digital experience,” Boire told conference-goers. “I don’t think until you’re fully connected—mobile, desktop, and store—that you’re going to be providing the full experience. That’s our goal.”
