The low price will compete with Borders’ Kobo and makes the Amazon Kindle look expensive. The new device also features a LendMe! program that allows Nook users to share books with a friend for 14 days.

Here’s more from the post: “The new Nook includes a color touchscreen for navigating, an eInk screen for reading and it is all connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Barnes & Noble has also lowered the price of the Nook 3G to $199. In addition, the book seller has updated its software for all Nook devices to Nook v1.4 and is giving Nook users access to free Wi-Fi on AT&T’s network. This includes free Wi-Fi in Barnes & Noble stores nationwide. Readers can use the Wi-Fi in store to check out eBooks free of charge through a ‘Read In Store’ capability.”
