Barnes & Noble Releases Nook for Web

Barnes & Noble’s digital reading platform Nook is now available on the web. Nook for Web lets Nook readers access their eBook library from an online browser without having to download anything.

AppNewser has more: “To promote the service, Barnes & Noble is giving away six free eBooks throughout July 26th, including: Map of Bones by James RollinsSex and the City by Candace BushnellThe Vow by Kim CarpenterThe Boxcar Children Summer Special by Gertrude Chandler WarnerBrave by Tennant Redbank and Perfect Island Getaways by Patricia Schultz.”

The web app works on Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. The display includes a “realistic book-like layout,” with the page numbers and a slider at the bottom of the screen to help readers navigate through the book.
