Barnes & Noble Reports ‘Largest Retail Sales Day Ever’

By Jason Boog

Today Barnes & Noble reported that December 23, 2010 was the “largest retail sales day ever in the company’s nearly 40-year history.”

The bookseller promised a more comprehensive report on January 6th, and eBookNewser has more details.  At the same time, some gloomier news emerged about Borders over the holiday weekend, causing the bookstore’s stock price to drop.

Daily Finance has more details about Borders: “As first reported on Dec. 30 by industry newsletter Publishers Lunch, Borders has been telling some of its key vendors — including some of the largest publishing houses — that it’s delaying year-end 2010 payments for inventory.”
