Barbara Park Has Died

barbaraparkBarbara Park, the author of the Junie B. Jones series of middle-grade novels, has died. She was 66.

The Associated Press has the story:

Park died Friday after a long battle with ovarian cancer, according to a statement released Sunday by Random House Books for Young Readers. She was a longtime resident of Scottsdale, Ariz., where she lived with her husband, Richard, and raised two sons.

Park was a bestselling author of best known for her award-winning middle-grade novels and bestselling picture books. Her works include more than 40 Junie B. Jones titles, as well as The Graduation of Jake Moon, Mick Harte Was Here, Skinnybones, and MA! There’s Nothing to Do Here
