Barack Obama’s Half-Brother to Write Book

s&s1.jpgSimon & Schuster will publish a memoir by George Obama, the president’s half brother who lives in Huruma, Kenya. Slated for January 2010 publication, one unnamed source told MSNBC that the 27-year-old Obama relative scored a six-figure deal.

The book has the working title, “Homeland,” and Damien Lewis has signed on to co-write the memoir. George is the youngest of Obama’s father’s seven children, and made headlines in February when arrested in a drug raid. Charges were dropped.

Here’s more from the article: “[The book] will tell of George Obama’s fall into crime and poverty as a teenager and his eventual embrace of community organizing–a passion shared by the president–and of advocacy for the poor, an identification so strong that he chooses to live among them.”
