Author John Shors Hosts Literary Tours in South East Asia

By Dianna Dilworth

johnshorsAuthor John Shors has set all of his novels in exotic destinations in Asia, so to help bring his books to life, he has launched a travel company that takes readers on literary tours of the locations in his books. The trips go to places including the Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat, and The Great Wall of China.

“We follow in the footsteps of my characters, and visit the settings of my novels,” Shors explained to GalleyCat via email. ” For instance, I am putting together a tour that will go to Cambodia and Vietnam, which are the settings for two of my novels. We will go to Angkor Wat, where Temple of a Thousand Faces takes place, and we’ll visit many of the settings from the novel. Many of these are somewhat secret places that most tour companies wouldn’t even know about. We’ll do the same thing for Vietnam, which is the setting for my novel, Dragon House.”

Participants get a copy of the book before heading out on the trip, so that they can familiarize themselves with the locations in advance of the trip.

Shors has several upcoming trips planned for December and January in Cambodia and Vietnam. The groups are limited to 12 participants.
