By Dianna Dilworth

teenreadingAuthor Donna Labermeier has launched a teen reading contest with a cash prize of $25,000 to encourage literacy among teens.

Six winners of the Fight For Teen Literacy project will receive prize money for themselves and their school library, as well as a visit from the author of The Healers Trilogy.  The author will also drop in on the Boys and Girls Clubs the winners’ towns to donate computers and eReaders.

To sign up, teens must read a free copy of Labermeier’s book and then react to the book by writing a song, making a film or producing some other kind of creative work. There are two categories — one for 6th-8th graders and another for 9th-12th graders. Teens can enter their works on The Healers Trilogy Facebook page by February 16th.
