The Bookseller reports that Gardners owner the Little Group has acquired library supplier Askews for an undisclosed sum. The deal will see Askews‘ team in Preston continue as a full service specialist library supplier. “The new structure will have no effect on the current operation,” the Little Group said in a statement.

Jonathan Little, chairman of the Little Group, said the acquisition will see annual sales across the entire group reach around 180m pounds, with 20% of that achieved internationally. “[Askews] has always maintained an unbeatable and first class service to its library customers and we look forward to building on this to provide even better services in the future for both existing and potential customers.” Askews chairman John Cropley added: “It safeguards the future of the company and employees as well as providing continuing service enhancements to library customers worldwide.”
